Leaving an unsubscribe link

Just my personal rant here and why if you use email marketing to always leave a link to unsubscribe.

I signed up for a well known marketer's list for a free membership. Anyway to make a long story short I started to receive "offers" to frequently and decided to unsubscribe.

But lo and behold no link to unsubscribe. I had to jump through a few hoops and login to the members area and try to find a link to unsubscribe. I couldn't find it, so I now have to submit a ticket to try and unsubscribe.

Probably some marketing ploy to get you to stay on the list, but by making me go through all that trouble to get off their list all they've done is lost me as a customer. I've purchased from him before and had no complaints with the product, but if someone were to ask me now you can guess what my answer would be.

I don't mind the email marketing as long as they make it easy to unsubscribe should I decide I don't want to receive anymore emails, but this coming from a experienced marketer...sheesh. He's lucky I don't report it as spam, there's supposed to be a link to unsubscribe.
