JonahViaKeyboard, do you have access to your .htaccess file? Have your 'error/file not found' page resolve to your index.html page with the coop ads on it. (or even add the coop ads to your 404 page).

We can go into more details if you haven't already explored these options.

ya know, I have really liked this program since joining. I have had nothing but good things to say about it. Is there a better advertising program available that is free? NO.

But, since Smarthost stated that it is messed up and that he/she is leaving, I must follow suit because, well just because.

Or, I could stick with it because I am not a complete friggin idiot that complains about having to update codes from a FREE service.

As far as making the code auto update, that would be great...... Once you can make it completely secure, which is going to be tough. Until then, my uneducated self will figure out how to update this stuff on my own, and probably learn something as a result.

    Long Live Ad Network. :)

Sorry you couldn't get it to work for you, SmartHost, but lil' Lever with his piddly weight and limited skillset has got it working and seen advantages in his very short time with the co-op.

Thanks Shawn :D Co-op is cool

I wouldn't want auto updating code; simply because I am always in the middle of updating, fooling around with a server or site, and fulfilling requirements that are demanded by running a server. It would screw me right up. Shawn lets us know; then I can set aside the time to do all 5 minutes of work.

True.. I am very new to this, and very limited in skills when it comes to updating and uploading files. I just did the latest update tonight, and it took all of 2 minutes. If I can do it that easily, I dont see why anybody would want to cry and whine about manual updates.

The manual updates *have* been too frequent. Nice if you're running just one or two sites, but it can otherwise prove a headache.

But then, the updates aren't taking place because someone was particularly short sighted or somehow failed either.

It's simply because the coop is evolving. It's growing and tighter management of client side demands is essential (even if new servers were in place the management would still be a wise move).

As much as the updates are annoying (I actually have to tweak the code to suit my needs each time), the rewards still outweigh the effort required.

I think leaving the coop over it is a mistake, unless you have a *lot* of seperately managed assets. As far as auto updating code is concerned, I'd never allow it on my sites (simply because I'd have to re-evaluate the new code every time the update happens anyway, so it would be pointless).

    Cheers,

    JL
