    1. Windows GUI is better.
    2. Compatibility. An average computer user doesnt have too much time to work around issues.

    • Because I have to noodle around with command line crap to slow down my case fans.
    • Native support for Photoshop and Dreamweaver.
    • I like to work on my computer, not work on making my computer work.

    Still.. I think we all know that Linux will eventually be the future of home computers. I WANT to use it, I LIKE using it... but I just CAN'T use it for 90% of my work requirements. And don't tell me to use GIMP or WINE :p

    becuase most people have no idea how to use it and they think windows is safe which really has more wholes then swiss cheese.

    I think windows is more popular because of the existence of rampant software piracy in certain parts of the world. It comes as almost free like linux minus the hassles associated with it...
