Hey guys! I'm wanting to learn how to use google adwords properly. I have about £50 GBP in credit and wanting to spend another £25 per month on my campaign. I have a couple of questions 1) Is it better to have a landing page rather than send the ppc to your homepage? 2) Is it better to start off small, e.g. target local then move into the wider audience later? 3) The keywords I have found I want to use (all local based) are very low search rates. Is it worth continuing or maybe find some larger search keywords? 4) I heard about a book called adsense for dummies! Is there an online version I can read? 5) Is it worth looking into an ppc managment company / individual so that i can concentrate on my business? Any help you guys can come up with will be gratefully recieved. I have put myself in a bit of a minefield as i want to make the most of adwords as I can for my investment. thanks Gareth Gillman Freelance web developer
1) always send traffic to your most appropriate page for the keywords you use. The home page is rarely it unless it's a one-page site. 2) good strategy if you have a limited budget. 3) nothing wrong with low searched keywords. They are usually the most profitable ones. 4) not that I know of. I think you meant Adwords for Dummies, not Adsense. I've seen the book (my sister has it). I think there are better ones out there. Check my link below. 5) Definitely! I'm biased of course but all my clients basically say the same, "You take care of PPC. I want to take care of my business and do what I do best".
well, Lucid has pretty much answered your questions. of course it is good to turn to a professional, if you can afford it. I can concentrate on running the business, instead of trying to figure out how to do a good campaign. But if you can't afford it at the moment, I can suggest you take a look at what the competition is doing. Not just steel their adds, but see how they build their campaign.
50 pound is not much with adword. I would say you should do it your self to get a feel of adword even if you do not plan on to be expert on it
