I have plan to learn the linux OS.
I get to know there are many different version of linux, such as Ubuntu,RedHat, SUSE,Debian,FreeBSD Linux .
I heard of the Ubuntu is very easy to learn and suitable for both server and desktop .

    I have two questions.
    1) If I learn only Ubuntu, can I also mange other version of linux OS?
    2) Do I have to learn every different version of linux OS ?
I especially would like to hear from those who are using Linux/Ubuntu and gurus.
    Thank you for your feedback.

    Hi,
there are millions of versions of linux, all operating systems are based on unix programming platform and there is a same basic commands to all linuxes. The difference is in particular coded programs that come with individual version of linux. Also the difference comes with directory structures and the manner files are copied from one place to another. First of all you should learn basic Unix commands, then if you install Ubuntu , check out reference guides for Ubuntu operating system
