Learning ASP and ASP hosting questions

I know PHP and some Cold Fusion but not ASP and I need to learn. Basically, I need to know how to make forms email, how to do if/then statements, loops and all that good stuff. Does anyone know of a good book for beginners or a good tutorial? I need a good starting spot.

Also, does anyone know of a good/cheap ASP host? Maybe someone wants to give me some space to play around? ;) I just need a small amount of space to test what I'm learning. Is there ASP hosts for cheap that anyone would recommend?

    Thanks

I'm not too sure if it's worth your time to start learning ASP now. It is a few years old, and is nothing compared to ASP.NET.

I would recommend you consider the .NET route, it blows ASP out of the water.

Also, why get a host for strictly testing purposes, just get the Visual Web Developer (Free) and you don't even need a local server!

Thanks bcabank, I'll check those out. I think the w3 one was on my list already.

brunozugay - Clients use ASP so that's what I need to learn. It's not for me, it's for clients existing sites. Also, what is a Visual Web Developer and is there any chance it works on a Mac. ;)

    Thanks

Visual Web Developer is a free application from Microsoft for developing .NET websites. It's really a great tool, and it doesn't require you to have IIS installed. As far as it running on a Mac goes - tough noogies. :)
