I'm enrolling in college classes, and, after failing for years in high school trying to learn Spanish, I have to take two years of foreign language. I could take Spanish cuz I already took it for some years, but I don't like Spanish. I am interested in Asian culture, and I read that Filipino/Tagalog is the easiest Asian language to learn, so I was wondering if anyone has any insight on this topic. Is Filipino as easy to learn as Spanish? How would you characterize it?

I have helped one and find it not so easy, or maybe he's not trying enough or lack someone to talk to.. immersion experience factor.
