Learn Joomla easily?

Discussion in 'Joomla' started by Space Goat, Feb 3, 2006.

I've set up a Joomla site for my friend on my server, and I'm wondering if anyone could point out sites I could send her to help her learn Joomla quickly and easily? She doesn't know website design at all, but she still wanted to have a site, so I installed Joomla for her, figuring that would still allow her to set up something.

    Thanks. :D

I learned Mambo and Joomla through trial and error by setting up a trial site.
I think this is the best way to explore the CMS without the fear of screwing up a real site.
Documentations and tutorials are a great help but nothing beats experience.

For your friend in particular, encourage her to "play around" the system. Assure her that there's always a backup copy to restore if something screws up big time. :)

I just saw this, looks like a developing new podcast about learning joomla? www.learnjoomla.info - looks like it could be helpful, if something started..

best thing is to learn via trial and err as obenix said earlier; i have learnt everything regarding webdesign through trial and err and where i found no way then i consulted tutorials, documentations; and for solving problems DP is the best platform!
