This is a blog post I wrote and decided to share with everyone. The post has links to .edu domains which is accessible by the public.

    --------------------------------------

Having a link on an .edu domain have become a proven method for gaining trust relationships and valued ranking within the search engines. Gaining a link from .edu domains is not impossible and in fact its pretty simple, but its about knowing where to search. This post here points to various sites which accept links from the public on .edu domains.

The value which .edu domains hold exist because .edu domains commonly publish non-spam links and the links commonly point to credible information. The only way for .edu domains to keep its value is if the community continues to publish credible information and keep the extremely low spam count. With that said, I plead that you do not use the .edu domains for spam, spam-related, spam-like, spammy, or borderline spam purposes. Please only publish information, links, or resources when appropriate and when you have something useful to share which is highly relevant to the page content.

Now I am sure some are asking, if you are afraid of spammers and you practice SEO then why would you share this information, publicly. Well, from a concerned non-spammer perspective, I see it like this, if you are a spammer then I am sure you have your own methods and ways of getting on .edu domains, because you are like roaches, can find your way into anything. From an SEO specialist perspective I see it like this, I found this information online, so its not confidential and let's face it ... its great link bait!

I simply do not think it is unethical for someone to take a fair advantage when they have something useful to share and the opportunity presents itself. I personally have tons of articles which have been originally written by myself but may or may not have been published, but would be extremely useful information to share. These articles can simply be a part of the .edu domain and naturally become well received. If there is an opportunity for which I can include a link then I will take the SEO advantage, while keeping naturalization. Why not?

    Antonaf,
Thanks for the tips. But the adison blogs you point to were promoted by a fellow DP member and I assume he's got the authority to do so.

He was willing to give a blog, provided they accepted to put a link back to the main site. I'm not sure if you are allowed to put it up. If you have the perm then I have no problem, else you might want to check with them.

Fellow DP member is known as "Umbrella Technologies" or something similar.

    Regards,
    ~G

Yeah I went through the list and quite a few of them are disabled due to spammers. I think there were at least 3 - 5 of them disabled.
