Hey guys, this is pretty much my first tutorial, let me know what you think. Source: http://www.learntodesign.net/read_tutorial/3/ I'm not sure if i'm allowed to just post the URL? If not i'll add all the content later. Hope this tutorial helps someone! I'm also looking for tutorials and tutorial writers so let me know if you're interested (unfortunatly not a paying job). The text does come out pretty nice-looking. The colorful version you come up with after that has a bright feel to it. It is fairly easy to follow along with this tutorial.
simple and to the point, i'd like to see a more advanced tutorial on this, going into different effects and textures.
Thanks for the comments guys, if anyone has any suggestions for a new tutorial or fancies writing one go a head and register on the site! Thank you, Jamie
Definately right, i thought i'd start off with something really basic, then maybe more detailed tutorials as we progress. Thanks for the comment. Jamie Hann
I dunno, I just wasn't impressed tbh. Yes the effect was ok, but it was almost too basic to be used for much. And as for simplicity of tutorials if it's written down and the effect works, it can be done, nomatter how 'simple' the tutorial is or isnt imo. I mean the end result to this tutorial looks so difficult to do but the tutorial itself is simple and easy to follow http://psdtuts.com/tutorials/text-effects-tutorials/create-a-layered-glowing-text-effect/ But anyway I guess I'm sounding harsh, I'm not bursting anyones bubble or anything like that, it is a good tutorial, I just think the effect is to overly basic to be used for much is all. This is a sweet tutorial too http://psdtuts.com/tutorials-effects/advanced-glow-effects/
I don't think you're sounding too harsh and in fact i'll +rep you for giving me some good crit. I'll make sure the next few tutorials i write are a little more detailed but as i'm not a professional designer i just try to share the experience i have the best i can. Thanks for the response. Jamie
It'd be a good tutorial for somebody who has, say, just that second opened up photoshop for the vary 1st time. I look forward to looking at your next tuts.
