Actually, it's not. They've purchased a review at his blog and John isn't the one writing the reviews :)

Actually it is a review.... it doesn't matter whether it was paid or not.

I just thought it might interest everyone....

    I didn't say it isn't a review, I said it isn't reviewed by John:

Yes I saw that.... that's questionable. People pay $400 to have John review it not someone else....

Advertisers pay for exposure, they pay for the SEO benefits, I'm sure that having John actually write the review is not exactly that important :)

Yea, John Chow reviews are nothing anymore. If it was somebody like shoemoney or problogger, it would be nice.

    I disagree.

People buying JohnChow reviews want to create buzz... that doesn't happen when a "nobody" does the review. When JohnChow does the the review then it has far more credibility and people listen.

That has to be the most annoying sales page I have ever come across. I love how the pop up doesn't want to disappear.

When they are buying a review, they are paying for exposure/SEO benefits. They know (or at least should if they've read the blog at least once) that John won't be reviewing it. If someone purchases a review thinking that John is the one writing it as a result of not even having read the blog, that's his/her problem.

Of course, anyone would prefer to have John review it, but that is not an option advertisers have. The ReviewMe sign says "Get reviewed by this blog for $400", it doesn't say "Get reviewed by John Chow" for $400 :)

You just have to love how easily things can go off-topic :)
