    has anyone tried both (ideally on the same site, not necessarily at the same time)? what performs better when placed above the fold? is your skyscraper on the left or right?

    I run both on a number of sites. I think the best performers are a banner right above the content of the page will perform best. IMHO.

    too bad you can only have 3 ad units per page! wait, but you can have ad links in the middle. the content can go below the fold now. who needs the content anyway?? :D
