LSD... never heard that one before... :p

    (Get it every week)

... yes, it was discontinued since the government made it illegal... but before you jump to another false conclusion read the official declaration on this subject by Wilford Woodruff: http://scriptures.lds.org/od/1

It was commanded by God to discontinue plural marriage.

Yeah, um, Mitt has 1 wife and 1 wife only. Get real.

    LOL:
    Speak for yourself!

Do you realize how silly that sounds?

LDS church condones and practices polygamy until it's outlawed, then all the sudden god just commanded it to be stopped?

If you don't understand how silly that sounds, nothing I say is going to convince you, so I'm just going to sit back and laugh at how rediculous that is! :D :D

    Yo Yo
Normally I respect you but this time chill.
polygamy is having more than one wife.
Now while I think you need to be nuts or loaded to do that I dont see any problem with it.
    Or gays
or any form of consentual relationship.
I have a problem with people saying its condoned/forbid by god or made illegal.
Now personally its not really a huge issue IMHO.
    Bigger fish to fry.
War, Genocide and Profiteering are way worse in my book than anything 2 or 3 or 4 or even 5 consenting people get up to.

I would agree (in its definition) that it's not a big deal until:
    1. inbreeding is taking place
    2. teenage girls are being married off
    3. the children are getting molested
    4. there's massive child abuse
    5. women don't have equal rights

The F-LDS is largely based in Texas. So you might have a point there.

    That is really sad.

Try experiencing new culture, opening your mind, seeing the beauty of the world.
    The list goes on.

Experiencing different cultures and different points of view is the one thing that gives you an understanding of people and to a larger extent the way the universe works.
It stops you being caught in the traps of nationalisim and Isolationisim that to many people get sucked into.
The world is a beautifull place.
    Go see it all.

Hmmmm....... So back to the original thread about Mormons in Politics (not polygamy) Here is a list of mormons in politics:
Bob Bennett - US Senator Utah Republican
Terell Bell - Secretary of Education(under Reagan) Republican
Ezra Taft Benson - Secretary of Agriculture(under Eisenhower) He later became the prophet of the LDS church
Rob Bishop - Congressman Utah Republican
Angela Buchanan - Secretary of Treasury(under Reagan)
Berkeley Bunker - US Senator Nevada Democrat
    Chris Cannon Congressman Utah Republican
Dr. Martha Hughes Cannon - State Senator of Utah Democrat - 1st female Senator in US history
    J. Reuben Clark - Undersecretary of State - Ambassador to Mexico - Later served in the 1st presidency of the LDS church to George Albert Smith and David O. Mckay
Ivy Baker Priest - US Treasurer under Eisenhower

More Mormons in Politics read Mormons in Politics

And if I remember right the Prophet Joseph Smith also ran for the US Presidency but was killed before the election took place.

I have been all over the globe, aside from the Bahama's the rest of the world can't hold a candle, Anything you want to see outside the USA can be seen INSIDE the USA. Mountains, waterfalls, geisers, ice, snow, ocean, prairie's, meadows, hills, valley's, desert, forest, you name it, we got it.
