Lazybloggr.com - Hot blogging with little effort

Any comments on my newest quick project appreciated. Its at http://lazybloggr.com and its my attempt at making a content rich website with very little initial input.

I'd be interested to hear how the idea comes off, ease of use and navigation, etc.

 

Interesting idea. I didn't like the colour 'babies diaper beige'.
Are you worried about getting spammers on it, or will you be reviewing all content?
I couldn't even have a guest book on my site because of the constant spam.

 

All content is moderated first. I'm sure I'll get spammers - it goes with the territory. All the post go into a holding cue, so its up to me to publish them or delete them. I say all the posts, there have only been two so far.

Babies Diaper beige? Lol - Now you've pointed that out. I kind of like it, its a change for me.

I like it. some of the writers are pretty funny. you'll have to make sure that the posts stay interesting and entertaining, and not post anything that comes along just to increase content.

 

That's true djpromo - I may seed a post once in a while if things start getting a bit mundane.

 

It has a few bugs like the apostrophe doesn't render correctly ie "Don't" becomes "Don?ft"

Also, people may not want to display their email as default so you might want to make that a checkbox or change it to url (It wasn't clear the the Anom option included the email)

Lol, My post was deleted but before it was, the "" wasn't displaying correctly either.

 

Thanks YFS 1 - yup, its a bit simple, unfortunately I'm not PHP minded enough to fix those issues so I need to manually correct anything like that. I took it down when I saw your post, made the changes, deleted the email and put it back. Its far from elegant.

Looks much better now...It will be a lot of work to hand edit all those posts (luckily though much of your target audience doesn't seem to bother with punctuation)..May be worth it to have a free lancer clean it up..Probably not cost very much.

Also, you may want it to add new posts to a queue rather then display first then get moderated. Im a good boy but if I wasn't I might have been tempted to post like mad after seeing my initial post appeared instantly. I know you would just delete them but it would take a bored kid 2 seconds to write a tool that submitted 50 posts a minute.

I know because I have had that happen

 

Nice points, thanks as ever YFS1 - they normally que, but I turned that off for today as I'm testing a few things - its off now

To be honest, I'm not expecting lots of posts, a couple a day if I'm lucky. If it gets busy I will have to invest in a better way of managing it and an improved PHP mailer that maybe gives people the option to add links manually. I'm not expecting that many techie users to be honest.

lol, i love the idea of this! Great site, not really too taken with the colour but it wouldn't stop me visiting it or anything. Nice work!
