    Hi;

    I recieved an email from layeredtech about the server prices.

    My price increase from 124$ ----> 152$ .

    When i search google, i see that there are price increases till 30$.

    increasing the price shows me that layeredtech service quality will decrease .

    Can anybody suggest me a better provider for a new server?

    Thanks

    LT is a good place for renting servers I have been using them so long time.

    Their service has never been delayed. Currently I run under them 2 AMD Quad Opterons no problem has been suffered no hardware no technical issue nor connection problem.

    You should see the huge thread on WHT about LT increasing prices, from the looks of it, it's a bad marketing decision as they are losing tons of customers.

    One of my crew members already posted over their "Mark". It's a bad thing they should have announced it 1 month before. But can't know whats going behind the scene.

    They said they are opening up a new NOC, which could somewhat improve services.

    Yeah nothing will decrease in their services "don't think they will lower their quality on that". It affected low budgeted dedicated server renters.

    The theory is to remove budget $80/month servers and replace them with $300/month servers. A lot of us doubt it it will work, and think LT will go under because of it. Many resellers are canceling 50+ servers (as thats a $1200+ monthly increase) and that's a lot of servers to lose. Also, a lot of people spread the word about how good LT was, causing them to grow through word-of-mouth. Now, everyone will spread the opposite, and they will suffer because of it. Trying to charge $125 a month for a 3 year old Intel isn't on.

    Move on. There are many providers who can meet your price and offer decent service. They are probably moving to higher users who pay a bit more and are not counting pennies. Some time ago they acquired FastServers - the managed server company that is well know for their quality of service.
