I know there are a couple of topics already discussing how the current state of the economy will affect Clickbank sales but I figured I'd ask publishers their thoughts on releasing products during this crisis. I recently posted an entry on my blog with my thoughts on the whole thing but I'm really interested to see what other people think, particularly publishers that have released their product within the past few weeks. Cheers, Liam
Depends on the niche really. If its going to help people make money it will do fine maybe even better than usual. If its just something people might want, or are curious about, then chances are it will be a dissappointment.
First of all, you made a mistake in your blog title......... Instead of Launching, you wrote launcing. So I hope that you will fix that. Having said that, I don't think launching a product during the economic crisis is going to cause a problem to some publishers, especially if this product is going to solve an issue. Perhaps how to cure acne or how to lose weight. In my opinion people would always buy things that they absolutely need regardless of how bad the economy is getting or will get I also believe that people will probably stop wasting their money in what they want, just so they can afford what they need. So if your product or any other publisher's product is going to offer them what they need.... I think they will get it. Just remember that quote from Franklin D. Roosevelt “We can afford all that we need; but we cannot afford all that we want†Megarudy
I've just launched a product this past week and in the process of gearing up my next one. Personally I would rather get my product out their in the marketplace now and even if its slow going initially they will hopefully be well positioned and more well known once any upswing occurs.
"not launching" is certainly NOT the better alternative Less sales, maybe. But still better than no product at all. My $0.02
agree with the comments ... an economic slowdown doesn't mean everyone stops spending ... sure some people will cut back ... but many people will carry on living as they did ... some people will always have money to spend ... e.g. tvs / stereos etc still get sold during recessions but yes, people will focus more on needs than wants, for now at least ...
