I just built and brought this site online yesterday: http://www.computernetworkinghelp.com/ I was trying to submit to yahoo.com and I get this error: "The following resulted when trying to access your document: " Then it shows the page with no images or formatting. I also get a timeout when trying to submit the RSS feed URL.
Well, actually I'm already building links as well but I generally use the submit although its been a while.
You should always submit to yahoo, mainly to send them the sitemap feed if you have one. Yahoo site and sitemap submit has been broken for weeks - I emailed them with the links I needed to add and they added them within 24 hours for me and confirmed by email.
Well, sure you can wait around for Yahoo to pick up your web site, but it is just as easy to submit your site. I have had no trouble submitting to Yahoo lately. What URL did you use?
When I try to view your web site's source, it refuses to let me. This may be a factor in why you are getting errors from Yahoo.
I didn't realize they had a sitemap program. What format? Also, where would you email the links to? Thanks,
Yahoo use the same site map system as google, except you can just sbmit the feed without messing around logging in. submit at http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request if this fails email it to
I see, I tried to submit the sitemap but I instantly get a timeout error. I think the submit function is just completely broken.
Its been broken for weeks and they know about it because I emailed them weeks ago! Send the links to their email address instead.
submitting by using their submit page from my experience can hurt your seo, build some links and you will be fine..
In my experience, using the submit page for Yahoo is just fine, and I have been doing it for the last 3 years.
I manually submitted my other site more than a year ago and it ranks 10 ten in almost all my important keywords namely because of the amount of backlinks. Links are everything to yahoo, I would almost believe yahoo using any type of SEO is simply a myth.
I am talking about submitting a site map feed like most people do with google rather than submitting the url of a new site.
