The only designer that sucks on this forum is you. None of your work is noteworthy yet you are constantly berating people with your dumb comments. You are the only horrible designer on this forum so please keep that in mind next time you try to say something.

By the way this is your SUCKY work. Who can honestly call this good??? Mediocre and stupid may be.

Alright updated the website a little bit.

    - I changed the logo, I tried to make it a little more professional looking, and added type to it also.
    - Changed that top banner section thing, gave it a little more purpose (got a little lazy of the coding of it, ill fix that later)
    - Changed to a sans-serif font for the text
    - Shrunk the font sizes a little bit
    - Cleaned up the html/css a bit (still no where near perfect, but was about to cut off around 100 lines in main.css)
    - Used a better image optimizer as was about to shave off about 200k site-wide.
    - I dropped the jQuery library and the animation on the scroll

let me know what you think

    Some improvements to come:
    - I want to add sub-pages to /portfolio/ that break down and show all the pages of my design.
    - I probably need to add a contact page with a form
    - Will probably remove the social link webfont and just use images. Will probably save some space and wont look terrible on windows.

PS: Thanks for the support bubba, his feedback was a little blunt, but it also had some validity to it. Lets not turn my thread into an argument please.

A nice improvement, but why are the social icons at the bottom? Closer to the top or the sidebar, so it easily catches the attention that you have social media pages. People will want to check it out to get a better idea of you.

With regards to the black bar along the top (and the bottom, actually) - I don't like the grey text. Make it stand out more, it will be easier on everyone's eyes. Think of your (potential) audience always and not just what you think looks good. Same with your logo (at least for me) - it could do with standing out a bit more. Maybe it's the black that is the wrong choice? Who knows, I am "graphically challenged". :D Anyway, you'll figure it out, I am sure.

Anyway, all the best. Your blog is coming along nicely, mate.

Overall good effort. I will not repeat the detailed feedback you have received above, am in agreement with at least some of it. The articles are nice and well thought. Really enjoyed the one on responsive design best practices. I would add a comment section on the articles though. Really nice site, anyway.

I have to say what you have now is head and shoulders above what you initially had -- the menus still have color contrast issues as does the footer; the text there could stand to be dragged up to around #CCC instead of the 8F8F8F you're using now. The minimum is normally 50%, which you are over, but all that white around it causes the pupil to close, upping the minimum needed contrast closer to 75%.

Under the hood you still have a LOT of issues -- the inline level tags like A wrapping block level tags like DIV (even if the HTML 5-tards call it valid, it isn't), the absolute URI's for nothing (other than wasting bandwidth, not a giant deal-breaker though)... and of course the HTML 5 bloat that would probably have me leaving a good third of your code on the cutting room floor.

Still, a VAST improvement over what you had -- both on the usability and appearance fronts. Well done. Just a little further to go on dragging it kicking and screaming out of the 1990's.

Kind of funny actually, the worst coded crap on the page and the thing I'd dive for swinging an axe at first is the Twitter plugin; So that's not even you! Mein gott do they not understand how to use HTML/CSS at ALL?!?
