Could someone please explain the "reputation" function on this website? Its seems I'm in the red and would like to change that One person would give me a positive for a posting and the exact same posting another person would give me a negative!! Can I give reputation feedback too? What happens if a person has like -50 will they be booted off the forum?lol thanks -Dave P.S: Anyone please feel free to give me a positive reputation feedback
Uhhhh.....some rules... 1. Don't bed for green rep. 2. Be nice. 3. Mind your own. 4. Help others. Then you'll be ok.
ARRRRRRRRRR! Its a Yart!. (this should not be in general). Rep is for fun, and unless you keep doing silly things you don't tend to stay in Red for long. The top tip: Act like you are. Don't show off, blah blah blah. Oh one big no-no for greens is creating Yart's.
Me too! I think I posted in wrong forums and got -ve points, hopefully I will learn then there was a spammer who gave me nasty comment and negative rep....thats feels bad
Since you're inquiring more than complaining I'll help you out. Search the forum for exactly how the rep system works. To go from red to green you can refer to this post that I posted for someone else: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=291366#post291366
Anyway is there a way to see who gave reputation? It says I have 25 points but who gave it to me or it's just a starting level so noone gave me rep?
You started at 10. When we want to let you know who gave it to you, we will include our username in the message!
lol YART. That expression has to stick. It takes me back to the olden days when Josh was a young lad and tried to get the term "GREP" to stick. Needless to say that one has gone out with the garbage. I'll be watching closely to see what happens to YART. Maybe even promote it a few times myself just to make things interesting
I think the answer you are looking for is that you need to go to your Control Panel -- see link at top right of page called "User CP" -- to see the details on the rep you receive. Even then only the last few reps are shown. As to who sent them you will never know unless the sender decides to sign his/her remarks.
I noticed also that for every consecutive green rep you get, the value grows. Like each new one is worth more points.
I think its the person giving the green rather than consecutives. Some people give 1, others give 10 or more.
