As well as the usual discussions on this latest PR update, I've seen some very unusual SERPs results that do not make sense. For one particular keyword I've seen two old sites jump back onto the front page in positions 3 and 7. I immediately checked the backlinks for these sites, and neither had any significant increases in back links. Both sites are old, and have very little fresh content added on a regular basis (try perhaps a little every 6 months) and yet all of a sudden they have jumped (back) onto the first page. The number 3 position site used to be number 1 in local Google 2 years ago, but was slowly pushed down to the second page as new, fresh sites came up the ranks that have 10x the number of back links. Second comment: I've always read that "Google Bombing" with the same anchor text is un-natural, and will harm your rankings, but I have seen one site recently acquire a huge number of links with the same anchor text and now ranks very well for that term? Could this be a temporary thing or has G taken a step back with the Forum/Blog links algo on SERPs??
