Sadly, I have been ripped off by DP member "apollotony".
At time of writing this, I have now had my perfect itrader tarnished by this user in retaliation to my truth.

    It is sad, but here are the details;

    - For the doubters and those that say there are 2 sides to every story - true, however I am staking my reputation on my following truth:

I had placed an ad (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1858103#post14601427) to hire someone for design services. I was contacted through PM and subsequently through gmail chat.

The DP user 'ApolloTony' claimed to have a web design business that could assist.
We chatted through gmail about the job requirements and I made a $100 payment via paypal July 4. I soon realized that this person was not the right person for the job, so I requested a refund. That was July 5.

I was told that the his paypal account was limited and a refund could not be issued.
I then offered another job to use the paypal funds I had already sent.

Many requests for updates were sent, over the course of 10 days with no replies. I sent several emails - again no replies.

July 15, I issued an ultimatum to refund the funds, or complete the work. I was immediately contacted through chat where this person apologized and promised to complete the work within 24 hours.

July 16 - no work completed. I sent an email demanding a refund and gave 24 hours.
July 17 - no work completed, no refund
July 18 - I am now once again hearing the promise : I will refund but my paypal is limited. You want a cheque?

Which of course is followed by threats from him 'having his lawyer sent me a letter for spamming the forums'

This is entertaining (as taken as an experpt from our google chat this morning:

me: you are kidding right. a check?.. I gave you 10 days. you apoligized and once again lied...karma dude.

    Tony: good luck
you will get you money no worries
100 is something i whipe with

I had another DP user contact me to ask about 'apollotony' a.k.a. Tony St. Pierre for the same reasaon (he was not responding to his emails either)

At time of writing this (July 18) I still have no refund, nor services delivered.

I highly urge you to avoid business dealings with:

I of course have to defend myself in this thread since it is not only a one way kind of deal. We originally agreed on doing a web design for $100 with programming... That client got canceled so he told me he would credit me for the next project and that is what we agreed one. The next project he gave me about a week later was to integrate wordpress theme into his website. I told him I was dealing with a larger client at the moment and I could get it to him but it couldn't be my priority and if he wanted a refund i could but not through paypal. Him spamming this forum is ridiculous and is not needed. I told him i would refund him but cant do it through paypal at the moment due to issues with the account his response was "get it done"... and I told him i could wire him, ach or send him a check and he decided to post these threads.

This is not how you do business. I wish you luck dealing with clients and business this way.

Infact I will send you $125 just because I feel bad for how ridiculous you

    Have a good day.

So, to further continue on this thread,

The saga continues - the deposit has still not been returned to me. I have also lost the client as a result of this fiasco.

    I have heard every promise from;
    - 5pm tonight, you will have it
    - my paypal is limited
    - I can western union it
    - you will have it tomorrow

I can only make one recommendation for anyone thinking about dealing with this person/business which is to take your business elsewhere.

At time of writing this (July 28) I still have no refund, nor services delivered.

I highly urge you to avoid business dealings with:

I will continue to update you all, as well as taking this matter to 'the web'
I will not tolerate fraud and scammers. I have been scammed, as I know many others have. We work hard for our earnings and no one has the right to steal it from you.

Even if a PayPal account is limited, you can send refunds. I've done it before, to recover money from a limited account.

well, I find it sad and annoying to lose money. It is sad that people such as apollotony and apollomg // net run their business like this.
I hate to see what kind of trail of scams are left behind and feel bad for others that have been ripped off by this business.

In follow up to my recent experience (here) with apollotony, and apollomg //net.
I am once again reporting that the matter is still not resolved.

I am urging anyone considering hiring or doing business with 'apollotony' to take you business elsewhere.
Not only did I lose the money, but also a client - in the non delivery of service and delays by apollogmg net

At time of writing this (Aug 18) I still have no refund.

I highly urge you to avoid business dealings with:
    email: "Tony St Pierre" <tpsp88@gmail.com>
    profile; http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?u=412281
    business; Apollo Marketing Group
    website: http://www apollomg net

I will continue to report the status until such time the matter is cleared up.

Update; I have received a warning from DP for starting another thread on this topic...
so am I supposed to add to the existing thread(s) - and risk infraction for updating an old thread?

It begs to question - have you given any though to the one that has done this scam?
DP does not police these type of matters actively anyway.
Suggestion; Maybe spend less time giving warnings, and more on those defrauding and scamming the other DP members?

BassCleff, a check was sent out to you for this inconvenience on both parts. However I suggest you don't hire someone for a job and change it up on them several times in the future. Good luck in business

    Take this down immediately. Thanks.

Irrelevant. services were not delivered in required time - as promised.
Verbal contract was null and void by your failure to deliver.
I gave you ample opportunities to provide alternate design services in light of the failed job.

Countless promises to complete the job turned into my distrust of you and your false promises.
All of which - including promises to refund - are evident here on dp.

and again, until such monies are returned; I will not cease in my reporting of the truth in this matter.
