My traffic has dropped by around 50% over the last week or so and my sites have only lost PR (despite growing links on all of them)...so I'm not too pleased with G at the moment....strangely, SERP positioning for my main search terms hasn't worsened greatly so I guess the drop is traffic is either due to an overall drop in traffic or SERP's drops on non-targetted search terms... Either way -- I'm not happy
As I speak (or write) I am not seeing some of my main keywords. They seem to have vanished. I hav looked several pages down for all the main ones. I know this has happened before but I really can't stomach it.
I like that phrase, that's how I feel...we work hard on these things for them to be seemingly swept away by G and it's dodgy algorithms....I wouldn't mind so much, but the MFA and Spam sites don't seem to be getting penalised...
And the thing is, Google is far too dominant when it come to providing search traffic, which makes it all the more difficult. On a day like this your traffic can drop by a whopping 50-60%. I have always wondered whether really big sites (you know the big names like About.com and simalr sites) get adversely affected by changes like this also, or are they immune?
I started to notice changes Sunday afternoon (EST) but today is horrible. While I am on top for some keywords, but nowhere to be found on others. I am also having difficulty in accessing Google video for example. I wonder if others are having difficulty in accessing Google itself. Absolute chaos.
Hi, Really I dont know what happen... 1- Do I have unique content? Yes 2- How about my keyword density? Around 2 to 4% 3- How about the keyword density of NEW competitor? 12% Where are my pages? I don't know, maybe top 200000000 When I see changes? Today!! Do I am using "-" to crate the pages. Like keyword-keyword.html ? Yes, like my competitors.. How about my PR? PR1, competitors top 1, PR 5, then PR0 Where is my fault? I dont know. I'm tired with Gooooooogleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Jakomo
Early morning here and my hits have dropped 90%. This is !#!#! crazy. I used to have 1000 unique by now and as of 6AM I have had 85 visitors. This is not good. Not good at all...... Google just STINKS! If I look back all the way to June 2006 then this is a 2 month cycle. My site disappeared in June, came back in August for about 2 months. Then it disappeared again until November and was back until yesterday. So now it's going to take another 2 months before it comes back again. Like I said, Google stinks and MC is taking a vacation???!!!???
I have had these problems before but in all cases they have been at most a few days and not 2 months that you suggest.
Most of my pages have gone supplemental with a date from September through November last year. The only ones that have a cache date from january this year is the main page. I can also see in my stats that Google is crawling the site as crazy and has been all night! What's that all about?????
To me is seems like a 2 month cycle. Not sure what they are doing when they throw in old cache pages and crawl old pages and wrong paths once again.
You could be right. Previously, I had many pages deindexed (hence the drop in traffic) but were soon indexed again. However, this time the number of pages pages indexed is fine but the SERPS have taken a big hit. How can you be on page 1 for some terms and all of a sudden be nowhere?
that's whats been happening to me since day one. one day top3, next day top nowhere. really makes me cry. well, not quite but almost.
Surely this thread was posted in the right place: google section of the forum, but its been moved to reviews.
And thats not first time. 27.12 thread finished on same way, so each day we have one new thread like this in google forum, and it could be all covered in one thread.
I have had several post moved to Reviews the last few days. Not sure why if it has to do with Google traffic? Have we got a new Moderator or rules have changed? Most of the stupp in the Google Category now is PR threads..... I posted about my traffic goingup again last night and it is still at a high
