Last.fm bought out, but why?

    i didn't know where else to post this so I thought I couldn't go wrong here

    Last.fm have been bought out by CBS corp. but why!? The RIAA are trying to shut them down! it makes no sense to buy a dying industry...unless you can change it!

    Do you reckon CBS can save the online radio industry from the RIAA or will they change how last.fm work to get around the new laws?

    Afaik, last.fm isn't affect by their online royalty hike since they're based in the UK (just what i've read)

    Hopefully it doesn't change the site too much, but I probably wont subscribe any longer

    wha!? I thought they were american based hence why them and Pandora were getting it in the neck when the RIAA introduced that stupid law :( ah well, will be interesting how this goes
