i think this is great as the fact is they should be moving towards faster updates on pagerank it just makes more sense and more efficent. I have my sites updating about that speed as its said at the beginning of this thread
Here's my view on it. I kinda agree with this. Reason being, if you have registered with google's webmastertools, then you would have, by now noticed a section which points out the Page with the highest page rank for a particular month. This tool shows different pages which has had the highest PR. If two or more threads share same PR, then it ranks them by authoritative back links. Go figure Now this is a clear indication that page rank doesn't change, once in 3 months, but it does happen very frequently, however I can't define the frequency here. My 2 Cents. All Success, ~G
I guess we may be confusing ourselves somewhat... In reality PR is constantly updating somewhere -- G is constantly crawling the web and PR updates must be part of this process, not as we see it a one-off process once every 3 months (when the toolbar is updated). Even G doesn't have the processing power to update PR for the whole web at one time on one day (that bit is my assumption ). The fact that webmaster tools shows us a monthly PR which can change between months (even where there has been a no PR update) indicates this.
i have also been noticing the pagerank on 2 of my websites have changed concurrently for the last 2 months running.
I also think the update does not happen to all sites at the same time. Almost all of my sites happened at the end of April first of May (I didn't track exact day). Seems with every update, I read about it here on DP as much as a week before I see it on my sites.
I agree with the dates, some of my websites got PR in March , some got PR 2 days back from PR0. Is there any fast bulk PR tool available?
There was an update on 25th January and the last update started on 27th April. If my calculation is correct--its 3months.
Whatever happened, there has been a big change in the last 10 days. I was away on holiday, and when I came back, all my sites started this year were FINALLY showing some Pagerank, after 5 months with nothing. Only 2-3 PR, but I am very pleased. I thought I might be destined to a life without PR. Not that it's really changed anything...
