Why would there be money up there and if its falling how is that a heist. I think the wind blew it off and the guard took the majority.

According to the KC local news, witnesses said the guy wore a cape, snuck up there, and bashed the plexiglass box...

The publicity stunt was putting up $100,000 in real one dollar bills - I don't figure that any one person would profit from stealing it, they are probably consecutive numbered, perhaps marked. It would draw alot of attention at any bank in the country, and I doubt you could take off with the whole thing. Showing up with more than maybe 10 of them would draw suspicion.

It went horribly awry... I don't think they thought of someone simply going up and tearing the thing open, letting it go to whoever picked it up. That is what has me giggling every time I think about it. They catch the guy, he'll be famous, at least a local hero.

How is that not a publicity stunt? You can't believe everything you read in the newspaper.. :)

Is it really theft if they dare someone to take it?

If you have a broken window on an RV and someone breaks in through that broken window they can't be charged with break and enter (here anyway)

I might be way off here though.
