    URL: http://www.popdeal.com

    Age of site (months): 5

    Monthly revenue: $300

    Revenue details:
The site is very good for ads, mainly because people that are going to the site are already looking to buy something. Most of the revenue comes from Chitika, followed by Amazon and Commission Junction, Google Adsense, Linkshare and Reporting.net. I tried YPN through an invite, but it wasn't as good as Adsense.

The Chitika ads get about a 10% CTR on the product pages, and the average CPC is about $.60.

    Monthly page views: 150,573 (Oct/Nov)

    Monthly Unique Visitors: 67,068 (Oct/Nov)

    Daily Unique Visitors: 2,200 (Oct/Nov)

    Daily page views: 4918.5 (Oct/Nov)

    Traffic details:
PopDeal is unique in the fact that a lot of it's traffic comes from referrals, but not link exchanges.

I write for the relatively new (300 posts) Bargain Hunter channel at Lockergnome. All the posts have a link to PopDeal.com, and almost all of the posts at PopDeal in the last 2 months have a direct link from Lockergnome. That's why the PR climbed to 4 so fast.

The site currently has 870 backlinks from Yahoo.

    Description:
PopDeal is a site similar to Techbargains.com. It has the latest technology and consumer electronics deals and rebates. It's incredibly easy to post deals, you don't even have to worry about uploading pictures. (Thanks Chitika!) Buyer will also have access to my simple method for finding deals.

The cost to run the site is currently $10 a month (just paying for hosting).

I have worked very hard at making sure the site would get a substantial amount of traffic from sources other than search engines, and it has. PopDeal currently has:

-68 active readers to the RSS feed (FeedBurner stats)

-971 subscribers to PopDeal's widget for Yahoo!

-384 active subscribers to the automated daily newsletter

-406 subscribers to the PopDeal Klip

I have a great user base waiting for deals to be posted, but I don't have the time due to other projects and work. Hence, the reason I'm selling it :) I currently only spend 20 minutes every day or every other day posting to it. There is HUGE potential for someone wanting to post regularly to the site.

    Price (or starting bid): $2,000

    BIN: $3,000

    Is an auction?: yes

    Bid increment: $50

    Indexed pages (Google): 440

    Indexed pages (Yahoo): 544

    Google page rank: 4

    Alexa site rank: 346,053

    Here are some stats:

    Traffic
    Chitika 1
    Chitika 2
    Adsense

A couple of notes on the stats:

    - Traffic was highest in October, a little less in November, and much lower in December. This is directly proportional to how many posts/day I was adding.

-I was using Adsense as the main ad slot from the beginning until Oct. 21, then switched over to Chitika.

    - You'll see the CTR for chitika drop drastically on Nov. 11. This is due to adding chitika to the homepage for every item and having it as it's own channel. The main channel (each individual post page) stayed the the same. The CTR increased quite a bit for that channel tho :)

    - I mentioned earlier that I had affiliates with Amazon, CJ and others. I would give stats but it would be inflating the value of the website quite a bit. Most of those sales (I'd say around 2/3?) come from sales AT Lockergnome. Chitika and adsense are the only ones that are solely from PopDeal.

If you have any questions or need detailed stats, feel free to ask!

    Nice looking website.

Is there a way to integrate CJ Data feeds into it to show random product "Deals" instead of doing it all manually?

Also, Im assuming once this site sells it will no longer be recieving incomming links from lockergnome.com right?

Also, it looks like the site is running on wordpress but what else is it using? Do you have some special plugins or coding?

    Yeah, she's running WP 1.5.2.

I have just heard about CJ data feeds, but haven't thought about integrating it. I'm sure there's a way though, I just don't know anything about it. Wordpresss is easy to extend...

Those links will always be at Lockergnome in the archives. You will always recieve traffic from search engines and Lockergnome.

There aren't really any special plugins or coding, but the ones I use are:
    Customizable Post Listings
    Get Custom Field Values
    SimpleTags
    Google Sitemaps
    X-Valid

As far as getting the Chitika to work, I use the Get Custom Field Values in the templates.
Oh, and I also gzip the pages to increase speed. But nothing too spectacular :)

I see that the domain is redirecting right now. So do you still the domain ( I'm interested in it ) or sold it with the site and from there the new owner ...
