    hi gordi

as thuds has mentioned.... this sentence at the bottom of every page

"You can use this article and copy it on your own website for free! All you have to do is make sure "

it ends without completion. I am running ie6

    some more questions :

    * where are your visitors coming from ?

    * how do they find your site ?

    * if its via search engine/s, what keywords/phrases bring them to your site... i have copied and pasted a few titles from the articles into google (and ask.com) to see if yours site appears in the results... but nothing comes up on the first few pages

    you say this :

"They get sent to my site using the POST method (like a html form)"

    * when these articles are sent, are they automatically incorporated into the site ? meaning you dont have to do anything.. the articles automatically appear in the appropriate category ? what if an article/s is/are sent that doesnt fit into any of your listed categories ? also how do you know you have received new articles ?

    * I assume the articles are stored in a mysql database

    * your adsense income, its jumped in the last week.. can you please supply data from begining of October, septermber and August. From your web stats, it shows you had around 6k visits in Sept and Aug.... what was your adsense income then ? What has really happened for your adsense to jump in the last week ? as you say google is just about completing indexing your site so i am curious where your visitors are coming from to give you a jump in adsense income in the last week. Dont you have awstats ? as i wish to see how many 'unique' visitors came to your site. you need to provide more detailed info ... $800-00 for stats on only one week's income of around $20-00 implies this income stream will continue for the next 10 months (assuming you are selling the site on 10 months income).

    * finally, why no 'search' facility on your website ? with over 34k articles, i wouldve thought a search feature is a must.

sorry to be so inquisitive and ask so many questions.. i am genuinely interested in the site... and when I am genuinely interested i tend to pose more pertinent questions.. so please dont take offense.

    hi gordi

Just to add to what mehbooba ( i would like answers to these questions also)

    Can you do anything with:
    http://www.bloggingstuff.com/sitemap.php

i.e. can you perhaps breakdown into a series of category SITE MAPS or similar?

Looks like links to just about every article on your site and I imagine it grows daily?

Far too many links on one page - and not something GOOGLE likes (ideally no more than 100 links per page)

I would be prepared to bid more if we can get these questions answered satisfactorily.

midascode - Yeah I can put a paging script in if you like and limit it to 100 articles per page. The all_categories.php page is also like a sitemap but thought it would be better to have a sitemap page too.

Adsense with site selected - http://www.bloggingstuff.com/adsense2.gif

    mehbooba...

    1) Thanks for pointing it out everyone, only showed in IE. Fixed now :)

    2) At the moment 95% of the visitors are coming from ask.com due to google reindexing the site (url upgrade as mentioned ealier). I have raw server logs if people want to see them but only via PM (the file is around 8meg)

    3) Google isn't showing as mentioned above. IF you try a few ref urls in the server logs you will see some good rankings for ask.com

    4) Yes it uses the post method. Because It's from a trusted source I have made it so it automatically is put into the site (in the correct category etc). No work is required for this site! I have made sure that this site has all the different category names and structure as the source. You know new articles are there from the homepage (most recently added at the top).

    5) Yes mysql :)

    6) Adsense income has been off and on because I've been playing with the urls too much. I've setteld with the method it has been now so google is doing the old recrawl and reindex which does take a while. Most traffic is from ask.com

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for the bid tdnetworks.

It isn't "taken" from (per say) it is distributed too :) it's from a company called Article Marketer - they screen and distribute articles written by their subscription paying members. It doesn't cost anything for me to receive the articles!

    Ok, I'm up to $500

I assume the new owner will take over your account at Article Marketer (i.e they will not need to set up another account?)

Or put another way - you are not taking articles from Article Marketer for use on any other sites you may have?
