I think big site has at least 500 pages. Small sites less than 20 pages. The problem is how to create so many content rich page
1 large site is way easier to control than many small sites. My advise is to get one large site running and up to a point where you can step away for a while and it'll still do ok, and then pop up another large site. /rinse /repeat -Scottydont
Hi, I don't totally agree with you guys. I have a very large site at http://www.theleadingarticles.com (more than 100,000 articles) which has made me good adsense income until now and I have found that some of my other small sites are much more profitable. I even have one site with just one article that has proven to make as much as $50 in one single day. So to the question are large sites better than small ones I would reply it depends. If your large site covers several topics you will end with non-targeted adsense ads (for example weight loss ads showing up while displaying a business article). Having small websites dedicated to one single topic allows you to have very targeted ads and a much higher CTR. Of course if you can have a very large site dedicated to one single topic it's even better!
Vitavee, are all your 100K articles original ? OMG It's 176000 in Alexa, which is very low for this kind of a site. What's your DAU?
Unfortunately most of them are not original. They are posted by my subscribers and they post their articles on other article directories too. 176000 is low I agree, I wish it would be more But don't forget that Alexa is not very accurate. I get about 2,000 visitors a day. Well not currently because of some ranking recomputations at Google I think....
100,000 original articles...That would be great! Unfortunately I can't ask my subscribers to post their articles only on my directory. I would love it If when you say large site you talk about sites focused on 1 main theme and its subniches then I also agree that large sites are MUCH better. Does anyone of you have such a site?
This is a niche in which you can make a killing. Clicks pay pretty well and there are really tons of ways to get free traffic for it. I don't mind sharing it with you, I think it won't affect my rankings since there are so many long tail keywords (thousands and thousands) The topic is "clinical studies". Creating a large site around this theme is guaranteed, if done the right way, to make a lot of money!
I think you can make $1000 even with a 100 page site. The point is how you develop it, originality of content, search count, niche cpc, etc.
Its really use full topic and fruitful replies and now i have my concenration on my one site .......thanks to all .
That's not the case. I got much higher EPC than that. A quick look at the Google Keywords Tool and I see that for some terms advertisers pay as much as +$9 per click. Average is $2.5 to $3 per click.
Excellent. Try to use only unique content in a high paying market And create as many pages as you can.
But don't focus on cancer topics there's a very unnecessary competition there and mostly garbage information Well, every topic has good paying keywords, use Adwords, do a reverse engineering, find keywords with high traffic and high competition. And write an article choosing those keywords. But, an advice, select a topic which also will make you glad to write on. Otherwise you can't stand to write 100 huge articles on things you don't care or you can't be productive.
One big site is much more then 10 small sites in terms of revenue. Also u reduce your headache by just concentrating on just one site rather then 10 sites at a time..........
