    Can large no. of followers in facebook and google plus bring clients for your business?

    If they're targeted and your business is appropriate.

    Selling high value sports cars - you probably don't need many new clients to justify the effort but getting them will require patience
    Selling an ebook or online mentoring - you can probably pick up lots of new clients easily - look at the number of get fit groups out there such as https://www.facebook.com/groups/1584856351749118/ which are really targetted and curated.

    If your page is just posting funnies and memes you'll probably have a harder time of it.

    Our main page has only got 789 followers https://www.facebook.com/RoommateCabins/?fref=ts but we get a steady stream of enquiries and most of those would be converted to sales. Our service requires a 6 month commitment and is good value for money but it's not something you sign up for on a whim.

    Yes, of course it can.
    In Social Media you build yourself a community, the largest your audience is, the more chances you get to transform followers into clients.
    Be aware that not all your audience will be converting into clients, only a percentage of them.

    I've worked with a few clients in the past. Although targeted followers can indeed translate into a large number of business, that's not always the case. It really depends on what you're trying to do on social media. If your primary target is reach, for instance, then the answer to your question is no. You are simply expanding the reach of your brand/company, sharing information and attracting more people with valuable information.

    For sales, on the other hand, your social media campaigns need to be a lot more specific and targeted.

    Large number of followers always help in increasing traffic for your business is partially true. As it depends on certain points if they are fulfilled then we can say that yes huge traffic will benefit the business. If the followers are the real followers and the content you provide is valuable to your customers, then only they will visit your website.
