I have decided to sell my Football (Soccer) Forum. We had big plans for the website, including having a huge front-end developed, but - like most of my plans with my websites - they have been hampered by University studies.

I want to sell the forum before all the current members (who, I might add, or VERY loyal) give up on it. They are all very keen for the site to become a huge success, so any winning bidder can rest assured they are buying a forum which is ready for big things.

DESIGN

A quick word about the forum design. It is currently also in use (the layout at least) at 2 of my other website, but is being fazed out within the next month on those sites (they are - www.pesgaming.com and www.pokerfanzine.com). Once this has happened the skin will be 100% unique to TalkFC - I designed it myself.

THE ADS/REVENUE

Currently the site is hosted by www.soccergaming.com in exchange for the 728 leaderboard ad the very top, the sidebar ad to the right. Being hosted there also entitles you to a link on their homepage and being part of the SoccerGaming network. If the new owner wishes to continue the relationship with SoccerGaming, please let me know so I can discuss it with the owner of SoccerGaming. Otherwise the ad's could be used for your own purposes.

We do have Google Adsense on the site, but as the majority of visitors are returning, they get very few clicks.

THE PRICE

I do have a reserve, but I do not wish to disclose it at this time. If I find the right buyer (I want the site to be sold to somebody who wants it to succeed) at the right price, I will sell. If not, I will hang to it a little bit longer and maybe develop it, in time, myself.

Is there a vBulletin license included?
- Yes, it is an owned license but expired.

Are there admins/moderators?
- Yes. All of whom I would expect to continue doing their jobs should you wish. I myself do not actually visit the forum very regulary at the moment so all the moderation is done by others.

Explain the revenue breakdown
- Revenue per click is approximatley $0.20 from my observations. Like I say though, as 70% of visitors are regulars (returning visitors according to Google Analytics) none of those clicks ads. In February the forum earned $9.45 with adsense.

 

When you say very few clicks for adsense, what sort of monthly figure do you see? Also, are there any active moderators/admin on the forum or is it down to yourself at the moment?

What's the average price per click that you get on the few clicks that you currently get? - I've heard sports site get a pretty good rate and would just like to confirm to see how the numbers stack up.

The livescore section is automated from a plugin on vBulletin.org. The freebet is nothing to do with TalkFC, I believe the creator of the plugin put it there. You could probably customize it if you are so inclined.

I actually put zero effort into the site currently. Like I said in the first post, I have been waiting for months to get something done with the site (front end) but to this day I have had no time, and am now looking to find the forum a new owner who can drive it in the right direction.

The vBulletin License is OWNED and will be included in the sale. It has, however, now expired but could be renewed for $30.

Obviously with such low revenue it is hard for me to put a price on the site, and even harder for me to find a sale I am sure. But I am looking for offers above the $1500 mark based on the time I have previously put into the site, and the clear potential of the forum given the activity regardless of the amount of time I have put into it recently.

How many are active members (verified email) ? How many posts for March ?

 

309 posts in March. I would like you to note though that the site was down from March 15th to 19th due to a hard drive failure. 883 people have confirmed and are registered users.
