I have a laptop using Windows Vista Home Edition Service Pack 1 and I take it to work and I connect fine I bring it home and when I attempt to connect to my home wireless network it connects but I receive limited connectivity and cannot go online. The wireless in my home is functioning properly as i can connect fine with my phone. I even tried connecting the laptop via an ethernet cable to an open spot on the back of my modem/router and that will not even get me online (just local connectivity) any ideas? The router/modem is a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580
ipconfig /flushdns in a command prompt window this video will walk you through it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyn0FXL9_Og
Tried it and it said it was successfull and still didnt connect ... tried a restart and still nothing. I have the network adapter preferences set to obtian IP automatically and I also noticed when doing an ipconfig at the cmd prompt that there is no defailt gateway listed.... could that be it?
Go figure..... woke up this morning to give it another try and as soon as I started the laptop up it connected..... I bet I restarted that this 5 times yesterday!
