i’ve inet access in my cell phone, but rarely I use it. Instead I use it as an edge modem. Cell phone’s screen size & keypad are the problems.
Got to agree with suman817, surfing with a 2 inch screen isn’t really practical. And I just hate having to type with these small keys! I do however think we’ll see a much larger interest in the ‘netbooks’ – small and light to take everywhere with, but large enough to properly view things and type.
I can't imagine sitting in an office working all day with mobile devices. I'm pretty sure they won't just fade away, but They are really two differnet things IMO, and both are so popular that I think it will be too close to call as to which will be the most used ???
Casual users-consumers of media, basic communication and entertainment-will gravitate toward the Ipod/phone type devices, especially as these get cheaper. Work will continue to be done on laptops and desktops, primarily the former. Small devices simply can't accommodate oversized human hands and poor vision. I do think there will be a revolution at some point in the technology which renders both the screen and keyboard in holographic form. Once this has been perfected, your Iphone really will be as versatile and useful as a desktop. I think that as computers become more and more important to the average lifestyle, we'll continue to see a niche for the full scale of devices. In fact, we'll likely see a new type entirely.
Intel and its affiliates manufacturers are promoting atom(intel chip name) and MID (mobile internet devices) . They spend large amount of money to promote it . I believe it will take some market share in future .
