Laptop advice

    Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had advice on laptops (PC based.)

I am looking for one with a 15" screen that will basically run photoshop and lowend games for.. 5-8 hours without overheating. I don't need it to be 100% top of the line spec wise (I'd rather not break the bank and don't play high end games on it) just run decently with a quality screen.

    Looking for suggestions!
    Thanks,

Ok take advice from me, because unless by lowend games you mean 2D games, then a standard home /office system is good enough with integrated graphics, if your looking to run games such as quake 3(which is fairly old and dont need much graphics anyway), then you will still need a dedicated graphics card, because I have an AMD X2 2.1GHZ, 4GB RAM, ati radeon hd 3200(integrated) and it cant even run quake 3, well it can but the FPS is unstable, thats on the lowest settings.

So I'd have to say you should just get a Gaming laptop, unfortunatlyy they are very pricy, the cheapest one I found was £470 with an Intel Celeron Dual Core 1.8Ghz, but had 512MB GDDR3 dedicated graphics.

You may need to spend £500+ on gaming laptops, but if you just want it for apps then price range from £250 - £400 is enough.

If you want something like that then go for Dell Studio Laptops. They are good.
And you can use them even for tough works.

I actually have a Studio 15 right now and it's what I'm looking to replace as it overheats rather quickly. (Yes I've cleaned it and had Dell both look at it and replace it.. new one does the same.)

If your problem is overheating, you might want to try a fan.

A good place to look for a replacement is newegg.com. You'll probably be looking for something in the $600-700 USD price range. You'll want your video card to be at least an nVidia 120m or better.

Even i too got lot of complaints about Studio from few of my friends.

You should go for Dell Inspiron.

It will solve your Over Heating Problem.
