Lap top touch pad not working

    Hi all, I have been looking on google for a couple weeks now, and have been trying to find a solution
    but so far nothing has brought any results...
    my synaptics touchpad is able to move the mouse cursor but the "tapping" and the buttons do not work.
    My laptop is a HP Dv6604nr using XP

    have you try to reinstall the driver software for the touchpad

    You may ave disabled it , check it first.
