Language translation software for SEO

I have been using Yahoo Babel Fish on my web pages, but would like to have translated pages to get indexed. Has anyone had experience with the software Multilingual Marketer, and although inexpensive, they don't offer a trial to test out first. The software translates your complete website, and I'm also a bit concerned that Google might penalize for duplicate content. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

How many pages you would like to ttranslate?
I would suggest you do it manually.

Google doesn't penalize translated pages but I'd rather have them translated manually, as software doesn't understand the intricacies of language and meaning of words in the context of a sentence. The result would in most cases be a spammy looking page in broken what-ever-language-it-was-translated-into.
