Language Barrier?

I just got some link requests from some forigen language sites. A couple of them look like they're actually relevant, but I'm wondering whether G will count them as such since their in a different language. Does anyone know now G handles this kind of thing? Or do they handle it at all? Would a link to and/or from one of these sites be counted as relevant in the G universe?

An in-bound link is a link and Google bots do not set a language in the user-agent field. Linking to the other site is another matter, would it be useful for your visitors? You might like to try to make it relevant with this kind of idea:

Interesting site on the use of <a href="http://www.their-domain.fr">widgets in French</a>.
