Do you think it is good that ppc ads redirect to your home page or any other place of your site? or is it better to redirect to a landing page? Thanks a lot!
In Andrew Goodmans book, "Winning Results with Google Adwords," he suggests you'll do much better by creating keywords and ads that relate to a landing page that's relevant to those same keywords, etc. I tried this with my do-it-yourself incorporation kits... E.g., I might advertise on phrase "Nevada incorporation," use the phrase in my Adword ad copy, and then drop them onto the page that sells the "Nevada incorporation" kit (so the page uses the phrase Nevada incorporation a bunch of times naturally). I think this technique works. I wasn't able to build a huge data set, but it sure appeared I got better CTR % and better conversion rates within Google. P.S. I think Goodman's book (I think I've got the particulars all correct) is sort of out of date but pretty good.
I don't know too much about ads, but I tried an experiment on bux.to. I put up 2 sets of ads for the same product: one with the home page, and one with quick image with the message up front. The one with the message had a higher CTR. When people click on ads, usually, their attention span is low, so having a separate landing page that gives them what they want right away, they might say, "Well, it's what I've been looking for, let me take a look..." But that's just me.
it doesn;t matter whether your traffic lands on the home page ot some other internal page. whereever they land on, that landing page should be created with conversion in mind. it has to be ralated to what visitor was searching for and will have order option clearly visible.
Having a landing page relevant to your keywords is going get you a better quality score (if you're using YSM) and will improve your positioning and cpc. Redirects get docked big time anyways.
