I hear the term "landing page" very often on these forums and elsewhere. Could someone please give me a definition, and also a link to a landing page so I can have a visual?
From wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landing_page Other information: http://www.digital-web.com/articles/11_ways_to_improve_landing_pages/ and http://www.tamingthebeast.net/articles5/landing-pages.htm and http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2006/04/vocabulary_land.html Hope this helps.
Ok from what I gatherd from those sites, it's basically a page that a visitor comes to your site and sees first. It is where you put your pitch for a product you are pushing?
Well not really.. It's more like you are advertising with a product in lets say google adwords. When a visitor clicks on that ad it redirects to your landingpage (could be within your website) with detailed information about that topic. Nothing more nothing less.
Ok, thanks for the clarification, i've seen those around before but just didn't know exactly what they were called and how they were used.
here is an example of a landing page. this company is a printing company that specializes in print advertisements for places like pizza shops, landscaping companies, medical practices, etc...they print everything but have landing pages for each category. for example here is their landing page for "chiropractors" who buy printed materials http://www.printanddeliver.com/main...teral.aspx?oid=3164&ssid=0&hid=0&sub=0&cp=110 hope this helps
