Are landing pages only made for creating a big e-mail list? Can I just have a landing page that goes to just the product and not have them enter their e-mail and such
Wrong a landing page is your own custom page to get people to buy a product or service or to fill out information to create new leads.
As stated; The landing page is just that--the location a visitor arrives at usually after clicking a link--either text or graphical. Oftentimes it is associated with email collection or data input by the visitor but the actual term for that type dedicated page is a "capture page". The landing page is also what I generally refer to as a splash page which is something to catch my viewers attention and get a little information and choose whether they want to continue on to the whole presentation of product or promotion. Depending on its use and purpose... You generally want limited file size of this page as it will be where you are sending volumes of web traffic and after they view this page they can decide to click thru to your entire site.
for poeple that hav landing pages aobut making money online... do tey mostly just have feild for email and from there make a massive email list and then blast info to them and affiliate links
cheece, a landing page is great to build a mailing list if you driving targeted traffic to it. As for making money from your mailing list is up to you. You can send a blast promoting your own products or other people's products via affiliate link. Remember to provide useful information to your mailing list. Sometimes give them value information for free. This keeps your list happy and they know you are looking out for their success and not just trying to make money.
is it better to build a landing page to build a list , lets say for a make money onnline niche, and then blast your links to your mailing list ... or is it better to have a landing page that will directly lead to a product
You are referring to a squeeze page. A landing page is where you want to concentrate your traffic to make a sale. For instance, If I were trying to sell a book on photography, I would make a review of the book as my landing page. I would then go to a PPC network and try and drive traffic to that landing page from terms related to what the book is about.
so i don't nessessaraly have to make feilds for the user to enter their email. I can just make 1 button that will lead to making a sale... right?
Depends on which converts better, making an effective pre-sell page or directly linking to the merchants salespage (if allowed). The only way to find out for sure is to test AND TRACK. The email list is so you can sell to them over and over again and get more for your click. I've made landing pages with and without the email, but you need to take into consideration the "lifetime" value of the customer as well if using the email list. And again test and track. Each keyword PHRASE delivers a different ROI. There's a lot to learn in PPC marketing, such as using negative qualifiers, targeting demographics, etc.
They say a landing page should have an Unique Selling Proposition, a Call To Action and an image. Now it depends on each and every one of us to design an effective landing page using these "tools".
in my option you should always look to build your list. you can have a squeeze page with an enter name and email address then have it redirect straight to the product. Remember everyone isnt going to buy the first time. They have to see the product aleast 7 times. Thats why it is important to build your list.
If you are in this for the long term you arw always better off building a list as well as selling products. I am different than most and prefer to create my list after a sale. I prefer a buying list as opposed to a general list. Everyone has a different theory. Steve
famous2313 said it all. That's the best way to both build your list and make sales. Having a mailing list is one of the most important parts of your internet marketing business.
With over half not reading past the second or third e-mail sent to them, it is not that important. In fact, it is not important at all for that very reason. Even many of the super affiliates do not use them with zealous. Squeeze pages are far worse because it will definitely squeeze out a lot of potential customers, because more than half of the visitors will just back on out again.
Then if you are not building your list then you are just WASTING money. if you are just sending traffic to your sales page. It depends on your sales copy if you have good sales copy then 1 out 100 will buy. Lets say you are one of the best copywriters online then 10 out of 100 will buy. So what happens to the 90 other people who didn't buy? They are gone for good. Thats why it is important to build your list. Also when you build a responsive list, you can make money at WILL!!!
you should look at Marketing Makeover Generator it helps you build landing pages with Ease!! http://www.marketingmakeovergenerator.com
As an experienced marketer and advertiser, I will say that one should not rule out having a list, but to put such value on it? No. If they leave, they are not interested, period. Some may sign up for the list, but of those few, very few of those few will read past the second or third e-mail. I'm not suggesting to my readers, or anybody to rule out a list ( a squeeze page, yes), just don't put such a value on it. They are not that great. Many successful affiliates know this already. But, different strokes for different folks, I guess.
