Landing Pages Necessary

I know that now Google frown upon sending your advert straight to an affiliate link, and try and encourage landing pages. On MSN adcenter would I be able to send directly to an affiliate link or not?

    Good Morning xentech,

The landing page that the ad goes to must meet all of our editorial guidelines and as long as it does, then by all means send the searcher to wher they need to be.

We have many affilate advertisers and they all go to the affilate page with no 'spalsh' page that belongs to the account holder. I would actually reccomend that you send them directly to the affilate page as that would be the most relevant landing page.

    Hope This Helps!

Yep, it's working verry well. I send my visitors direcly to my affiliate link and it's perfect.
It's a win - win - win situation for the publisher and advertiser and the customer.
I Really like adCenter! It's Recommended.

Thank you for the responses people, once I get approved on a certain affiliate network I'll sign up for adCenter and start promoting. And to those who are wondering why I am not using adWords: I am using adwords but I have discovered a niche that works VERY well with msn traffic so I'm going to rinse it.

Wow... Are you really adcenter rep....

If MSN allows the ads to be linked to the merchants page that is good news... atleast you don't need to spend that much efforts on the landing page.. (though I believe that landing page is the key to long term success)... if you are testing out the offer it may make sense to send the visitor to the merchant page directly...

But then I guess the time that you save towards creating the landing pages is wasted on creating the ads again and again due to high rejection rate. :)

    To all who posted:

When it comes to having the {keyword} within the Destination URL, please check the Help section for 'Query Strings' and this will allow you the ability to add in not only the keyword but also other identifiers. I have placed the link to that page below.

    http://help.live.com/help.aspx?proj..._ss&mkt=en-us&querytype=keyword&query=yekdi11

The reason behind not having the 'Splash' page is the amount of dissapprovals that can happen as the relevancy is not as high when we just send the searcher directly to the affilate's page. I know that alot of advertisers that are utilizing a 'Splash' page tend to have a higher dissapproval rate rather than the ones sending it directly to the affilate page. Please do note however the affilates page must meet our Editorial Guidelines.

    Hope this helps!
