Someone suggested using Squidoo. I looked at several on the forum and my initial impression was...too much going on...hard to focus..also seems kinda "crayon and coloring book" level...but lots of people using them. I see critiques here on the forum:"Too much","hard to focus" ,"too much color","not enough content","not enough color"...etc...etc confusing. Oh well I guess that's what makes us individuals. Sure wish we had a "landing page under construction" so all you vets could bat it back and forth, hash out all the details, pro and con, and comments, and arrive at a generally agreed upon good page.We newbies could benefit. Bear with me...please? Poll: Generally speaking what do you personally find better at converting...short and simple or longer and more content? (I'm talking affiliate landing page)
i just use my squidoo lenses and hubpages etc to link back to my main landing page, which is ultimately on its own domain. ive done quite a bit of split testing of landing pages and have that found simple review pages, with hardly any graphics work best. not fancy well designed ones with stars and crap all over them. just simple to the point no bells and whistles. might be different for others tho!
Squidoo lenses rank high in the search results, Hubpages does too but the bad thing about hubpages is that they don`t allow more than one affiliate link per hub or one link pointing to one domain.
I agree that there is too much distraction on Squidoo....If you don't want to get your own domain and hosting, then probably Blogger is the best way to go, because you can customize the whole template, so it looks like a proper landing page.
