Landing Page VS Site

Here's my question. Do you prefer making a landing page devoted to one product and drive all your traffic there or what about making a site with content and affiliate links also.

I'm trying this method with my site http://fbseo.com where I picked some CB products with fairly high gravity and placed them in various spots on the site. I'm also working on a blog for the site (http://fbseo.com/blog)

Do you think this is affective or are simple 1 product landing pages the way to go? Lets discuss. :)

And what do you do to optimize your landing page for conversions?

In case you haven't noticed, I'm fairly new to the whole Affiliate Marketing world.

If your promoting your own product then use a site with information and a small portion of the page occupied by a optin form.

Make use of both if you want to capture email address alone then use a landing page.

For me the product review websites have converted more with Affiliate products but you should try what works for you then continue with that method.

A proper landing page (with all the required elements/strong call to actions/emotional triggers) will always work better than a blog or general website.

I've seen a lot of people building blogs and adding all sort of ads from different networks on them. By doing that you will only distract your readers and eventually lose the majority.

Go for a simple/review style landing page (one product review per page). It turns much higher conversion rates than a blog.

Here's the deal, if someone has a problem and land on your website, you need to give them the solution. No if you have 5 different products for the solution then more than likely you are going to confuse the person. Thus majority of them will go look somewhere else for the "best solution" to their problem. So in my opinion, if you are going to go the general website or blog route you are going to need a ton of traffic to convert.

On the other hand, if you focus on one product then your reader will have less distractions and will be easier to be convinced that the product will help them. Thus you will have better conversions from the same amount of traffic.

Sometimes I think websites look more legit if they have more than one product- they have the appearance of a real store. But for the most part a lot of these clickbank products focus on one product. When making page dedicated to a single good/service you can put all of the attention on that product and explicitly detail all of the benefits of it.
