So I know the benefits of having a full blown handing page is that you can get the Search Engine benefits, and the benefits of redirecting the URL is that it is one less thing the user has to click. So which one should I use? With the Landing Page, I will I am losing sales, but I also may be gaining sales in the future when I get some rankings.
Well one thing you can do and this depends upon what it is you are promoting is Knock up a free report based around the program or service and offer it in exchange for the visitors name and email address and through that direct them on, The other is you could have a review page on other like services/programs giving your main one a bigger, but always Honest (no crazy exaggerations) , to drive people that way. If the page you are redirecting people to has a very good sales page (does all the hard work for you) and it pays well well that would make that the option to choose. I guess I should have asked - how are you driving people to your redirect page - as that has a lot of bearing on it. I did forget - on your landing page you could have Adsense (hmmm) and maybe some clickbank CJ products as well. Again, if the traffic you are getting is highly targeted and itching to buy, then the redirect. If they are just curious - then offering them some other alternatives is an option. It really comes down to testing what works the best for you! Cheers Tim
I am driving people by PPC. On my landing page - I have a small review of the product, 2 links in the review, and one (usually) 300x250 image.
I might be confusing "Landing Page" with "Splash Page". I use the two interactively. So just ignore me If I've gone off in the wrong direction Cheers Tim
Some programs allow direct linking and some do not. You need to read each companies TOS as blogsalesman said. I think if a company allows direct linking and the page is good then you can use it to figure out if the offer converts before you go to all the trouble to set up a landing page.
The safest answer is to split test - take a landing page/splash page scenario & test it for say a week - then change it to a redirect or something else and see what works Internet Marketing is all about test and change - test and change - test and change - did I say test and change? hehee
