How would you compare a landing page for a certain product (like, say, clickbooth program) to a blog that simply incorporates the product into the overall design (but not blogging directly about the product)?
That's an interesting question. I think the blog would be a better tool to gain user trust and credibility, but it is not exactly a call to action, which is sometimes needed to make a sale. I'd say they both have their pros and cons.
I have a program running on an affiliate network that's simply an email submit. I found that nobody will click even when the banner is visible and such. Adsense has converted way better. Maybe some products will require one or the other?
If the users already know about the product they are looking at and for then I would go towards a landing page. If the product is related to what your blogging about but the users do not know what it is then I would go towards a blog. I have had some success with my first landing page about 2 weeks ago. Takes about a week to get into Google rankings and then after that you can just leave it A must is a good design for a landing page. Has to be eye caching...
its two totally different ways of selling, typically with a blog you are looking for organic traffic and with a LP you are typically buying traffic.
