Landing Page Quality Score factors

This new Quality Score of the landing page has comletely decimated my arbitrage business. I'm buggered!

    1. What factors do you think will help with the quality score? Slapping on things like a privacy policy, about us page, unique content, good navigation, title meta tags - will that help? What else might help boost the quality score?

    2. What opportunities does this new Landing Page score blow wide open? I presume there will be far less Adwords advertisers due to the costs shooting through the roof and keywords being disabled. How to take advantage....anyone?

I haven't been using adwords much lately, but it seems to me the opportunities are being tightened as opposed to being "blown open".

At least the number of types of opportunities is decreasing. Less funneling adword traffic to generic pages. But increased value for quality and relevancy.

Myself, I'm thinking about what my existing higher quality pages are. The real moneymakers. It may be worth taking another look at adwords for those pages to see if they have an improved value with a lower cost now. So okay...The opportunity for existing quality pages has been blown wide open! :)

Beyond that, the thought of working out SEO for adwords (AWO?) makes me want to go crawl back under my "Content is King" blankey.

I may tend to over simplify things but imo just make a page that's related to the ad you create and the keyword or phrase that the user was searching for. Google made a tips/suggestions page that discusses this.

The only people effected, from what I can tell, are the ones who were serving ads that weren't related (the ad may have been, but not the destination page) to what searchers were looking for. I don't see this denting the number of Adwords advertisers at all. PPC is in the midst of explosive growth...this won't effect that at all.

Relevancy isn't the only issue now. After their new landing page quality score, they view the quality of your webpage. It isn't just relevancy. But I would like to know what factors they consider.

I don't get what you're saying. Relevancy has always been important, but up until the inclusion of the landing page in the quality score calculation relevancy was limited to your ad and keywords selection.

Like I said I may over simplify things but it seems pretty clear to me - give the user what they expected to get when they clicked your ad and you'll be in good shape. Write ads and bid on keywords about cars and bring people to a page about gold fish and you'll have trouble (higher CPC).

I would have to agree it's more about being as relevant as possible.

The pages need to be more professional in their offering and what you are trying to capture.

If the ad offers something free.. do not require a form fill from the user to get it.

Bidding on cars and presenting fish... not a good idea at all
    How true indeed

Well, my point about relevancy is you say, "Ensure that your landing page is relevant to your keywords and your ad text." I am saying that is not the only factor. My keywords are relevant to the landing page subject. But I still suffered a huge increase in adword pricing for most keywords.

So, I would like to know what other factors influence the landing page algo. Also, I wonder if it is not just the keyword but also the adword advert text that is factored into the relevancy of the landing page.

Well it might also eleminate the bogus adwords > adsense > $ only pages and might take some costs down for those who really advertise..
