landing page or minisite?

I'm undecided on whether to do a landing page or minisite for a new niche i'm promoting.

Landing Page - a single page with opt-in to download a free tips guide and redirect them to the merchant after opt-in

Minisite - 4 to 6 pages of unique content and with my affiliate links all over the place and with an opt-in for my free guide.

I'm in a dilemma because i feel the info in this niche is what the visitors would want to read immediately after landing on my site but if i do a mini-site, I'm afraid they will get too distracted and not opt-in.

What would you do?

P.S. Usually I do landing pages for all my campaigns but I feel this niche is rather different.

Create both of them (yeah I know its an effort and takes time but...) and do some split testing.

 

This is one way of doing it:

You set up an opt-in page for a free report, and at the bottom of the page, have a link that says 'If you've already downloaded this report, click here' to go to your minisite.
