Landing page or entire site? Plus, a question on landing pages.

I'm very new to this stuff, but it seems people have been debating the usefullness of entire websites for affiliate marketing over single landing pages.

What do you guys think is best? Is it worthwhile to create an actual website with multiple pages over a single landing page? Of course this would take a lot more time (and money), so is it worthwhile?

Also, about landing pages (again since I'm new to this), how would that work exactly? Do you have a large number of domains you've purchased, and just pick one with a name somewhat relevant to the affiliates you're putting on your landing page, or do you just reuse the same domain for all of your affiliate marketing purposes? Or, do you create subdomains or some-such for different landing pages?

The above are some questions I haven't really seen answered on DP, and I've searched a ton :)

    Thanks for the help!

Sending directly the visitors to the product landing page aka the ''affiliate link'' is the best. You not lose your traffic from sending visitors to a site who send visitors to another one... I use direct affiliate link in my adCenter campaign and i have great conversion rate and great results. A++ Hope this help.

I usually use subdomains. I promote many health related products. So one domain about health is enough for me! But it differs from individual to individual..
try to capture the email of your visitor before redirecting them to the actual affiliate site..

It depends from many factors - e.g. traffic driving strategy, product type, the stage of buying cycle for customer etc.

For beginners that don't have PPC skills and budget, I suggest building some 20 page website that would have good index page and review (comparison page) and the rest pages can be articles to capture some seo traffic. And from there the work then can begin ;)

In essence - website is foundation of the internet - so whatever method you use to drive traffic - PPC, SEO, article marketing or videos, web 2.0 etc its good to have your site where you can play around :)
