I'm posting in my blog, what is the better? Creating a landing page with a domain name or just add the direct affiliate link. What converts well??
I don't think you need a landing page, if you're talking about it on your blog. The whole point of a landing page is to warm up your buyer. If you're making blog posts, than you should already be warming them up.
Like Supper said, a blog is good enough if you're looking at doing sales from the blog. You can direct link from there, since the buyer has already learned about the product. For anything else though (such as article marketing or PPC), DEFINITELY use a landing page. And as of late, most of the big article directories don't allow affiliate links anyway...
You need to test, just because you have a landing page doesnt mean your going to convert those visitors. It depends on many factors, how well you pre-sell a visitor on your landing page, if your unique, also if you are direct linking and not getting any sales then it could be your ad copy or the actual sales page itself. Test, test, test and track everything. Yours, Laura_D
If you got a blog, and talking about the product there, then there is no need for a landing page. Just direct link. Landing pages are required, if your content about the product is on a website, which is not yours, like article directories, or advertising websites.
Thanks for all replies. Will using direct affiliate links hurt the SEO? Is there any method to cloak the affiliate link in a good way?
Use php redirect to cloak it. Just open up notepad and put the following in... <?php header( 'Location: hxxp://yoursexyhoplink/' ) ; ?> Call the file what you want, with the .php extension. Upload it on your server and link to the php file.
Definitely use a landing page or use you blog as the landing page. As far as cloaking goes, you can buy a cheap .info domain and use a redirect.
On a blog that already has built relationship with the reader, I do not see any reason to further build a LP, I would just direct link and in addition to "Supper's" cloaking tip, include the meta refresh tag.
