Hi all, My company hosts our LP on a different system and designate the URL with minisites.mydomain.com instead of the www.mydomain.com of the website. I know that i need to use the same domain for the website and the LP as it may impact my QS or even cause Google to give my account a slap. My question is for those here who have any experience with this is the "minisites" haev a negative impact on my quality score? Thanks, Eyal.
QS has nothing to do with your domain name and all to do with your click rate compared to other advertisers using that same keyword. I explain in lots more details in my Adwords FAQ.
Hi eyraz, landing page quality is one the drivers behind Quality Score, in addition to CTR and the relevance of your keywords to your ad. Sending traffic to a sub-domain rather than the main domain won't negatively affect your QS. I think you might be confusing this with PageRank (which does change between sub-domains and the main domain). Your QS for the keywords pointing to the sub-domain will depend on the merits of that sub-domain: that is, how Google perceives the quality of that landing page. So there shouldn't be anything to worry about per se.
