I have 2 very profitable landing pages but I am trying to make them more profitable. I get about 60 - 75% click through from my landing page. One of them gets close to 400 - 500 hops a day (@ almost .60 ppc this ads up quick). I want to be able to tell what keywords people are clicking through from. The publisher of one has put my tracking code on their thank you page and has solved that issue. The other, however, hasn't agreed to. Does anyone know of a way to figure out which words are getting clicked through on? It wont give me sales but at least I will know which ones have the opportunity for sales. If I could get rid of trash keywords I could save $40 - $50/day.
The problem I've had with Google analytics is that they don't show you the actual keyword phrase that led to the sale. For example, if you bid on "widgets" and someone enters "really cheap widgets" and buys from you, in the past, Google Analytics would only show "widgets". Don't you think it's important to know that "really cheap widgets" is the money keyword? The other problem is that GA doesn't help you if the sale takes place on another site that you can't place your tracking code on. That's why I built my Keyword Radar software, because it overcomes this. Turning off the keywords that lose you money is what it is all about!
